The power of marginal Effort

Marginal effort theory is a performance management theory which emphasizes on the fact that you can be better of at something if you focus on making a short effort in improving one percent margin for improvement in everything you do.

for example, say you study for about 40 hours a week while preparing for a competitive exam and you wish to improve your total study hours than you should try to study for just 24 minutes extra every week or say six minutes of additional study every day will help you not only study more but it will also help you improve your retention and attention.

you need to make sure that you know what all areas are important for you to perform better and you need to set realistic goals which can be achieved and at the same time you are making marginal effort to improve every day.

To see this work out for you make sure that you follow the following three steps.

  1. Areas of improvement.
  2. Realistic goal
  3. Implement marginal effort
  4. Review what you have added up.

Give it a short and let us know if this works out well for you!

Things everyone thinks about IAS exams !

IAS results are out and the internet is buzzing with stories on how topers made it! well done folks
Many dreams of becoming an IAS at times when we really wish we had some power. Here are Five things every Indian student thinks about IAS exam.

1.You got to have the background in Humanities

Yes people who have a background in humanities do find it comfortable to prepare for the exam but that does not mean that students from other streams can't crack it. As a matter of fact, people can actually pursue their core subjects for the exam.

2.You should be from Bihar
Being Bihari does not mean Being a government employee as this is India and here no matter what you aspire for your parents have always dreamt of you getting that Sarkari desk and if you to share their vision than chances are high that you might also wish to once appear for the exam regardless of you being a Bihari or not simply makes no difference.
3.You got to relocate to Mukherjee Nagar

This is the place in New Delhi which is the hub of IAS but surely it is not the only place in the country which has coaching centers and no one can claim that its the best.A lot of people who have cracked IAS in past have made it on their own.coaching can only help it's the in numerous hours of hard work which helps you crack it!

4.You can be Aamir Khan from the movie Sarfarosh (though he chose IPS over IAS)

Who does not like power? and we live in a country which draws a lot of admiration from Bollywood. One particular film which as surely inspired people to take up IPS is Sarfarosh. Its rated 8.2 0n IMDB and it's surely on top of the favorite movie list of aspirants.

5.You can become a Politician or an Entrepreneur!

Yes if you are an IAS and you face a mid-career crisis and  you feel like changing your career than worry no more IAS has some of the best career change options, the political parties are always looking for people who understand how bureaucracy works and voters also like to vote for folks who have made it on their own. Alphons Kannanthanam is one such example. Roman Saini ,founder of unacademy  is another example of IAS turned entrepreneur who is now working to revolutionize the space of online coaching for competitive exams.

Zuckerberg's leadership test!

Why should he continue as the CEO of facebook? Is he a cheat or a savior?Has Mark failed as a CEO?This is what the jury actually wanted to tell Mark, “Your brand is your claim and your claim is your goddam responsibility.” Turns out that this is exactly what Mark wanted to hear.

Leadership is about responsibility and you can be ashamed of what happened behind your back but the world is now going to judge you as a “data trader”.
Mark now faces the toughest challenge as a CEO, What will it possibly take for Mark to save facebook.
Here are 5 points which should help you judge him better

1.Did facebook sell data?
Facebook does not sell data to advertisers, it helps advertisers place the ads to the right customers. This goes true for every social site and search engine and this is practically how internet earns its revenue. This is absolutely legit.

2. Can facebook fix elections?
Let us not forget the fact that Facebook is a medium of mass communication. You do not blame the manufacturer of sound systems when hate speeches are delivered from election stages!
Social media is now going to be a mass medium you can not help it as it has the potential to reach masses, Fixing elections will require Facebook to get authenticated as official government ballot partner!

3. It's not the algorithm, its content that makes fake news survive!
As a scalable medium, it has the “viral engine” are people being fooled via fake posts? Yes, but the problem lies with the content and not with the medium, Facebook promises to develop a team of content experts who will identify potentially harmful content.

4. Protecting privacy is important!
Yes it is and Mark agrees to that but what a user wishes to share publically is also a user’s choice, you can not expect the app to supersede your intelligence and make your decisions for you!

5. My team will follow up with you
He has been mocked at this but come on, you can not expect the leader to know it all, he has employed people to work for him and as a true leader, it’s only fair to not to comment o things which you are not sure about!

Mark can choose to stay as the CEO and continue to fight the Odds, or he can resign and let the odds take over Facebook once and for all!
Meanwhile, Orkut plans to make a comeback in India, is this just a coincidence or a perfectly coordinated plan!
Looking forward to your comments!
