Linkedin has definitely made it's way to the top spot on hiring managers talent hunting drives. Not only recruiters but even the top CXOs are interested  in scanning through candidaes profiles and of course networking for business leads and career advice and mentoring are just the bi-products of the ever-expanding network
What is it that can really help you get a great placement fix on linked in?Our career development center has got some tips, which can help you out.

1.Your cover photo and profile photo
There is this old saying in Hindi language that says "jo dikhta hain woh beekta hain" (what's visible, sells) and my friend it definitely makes all sense. you can not mess up with your display picture avoid using your facebook and whatsapp DP,take out your blazzer ,fix your Tie-s knot and dare not click with that 12 MP front cam rather rush to a nearby studio and get yourself clicked in a simple and sobar look. We all appreciate decency and your display picture is the first thing that a recruiter will notice! choose your best shot and upload it

Your cover photo is more of an opportunity for you too show case your personality, you can choose you linked in cover background  as per your personality, avoid aggressive covers and if you do not wish to keep it simple than go for simple quotes!

2.Your bio and Summary

Your Linked in bio is not your orkut testimonial or facebook description, its simply about who your are and you do ! its simple do not oover complicate your bio by adding phrases or quotes, keep it straight! for example
MBA Graduate looking for opportunity in Sales
Final year Engineer actively looking out for opportunities

Your summry will have a structure thanks to front end developers at linked in ,but one must use action proverbs to indicate hands on experience .  Do not forget to highlight skills which you have added over the course of yur eduction.

3.Get genuine recommendations
Recommendation are like product reviews! almost 80% people who shop online look out for reviews before placing an order online. Your LinkedIn recommendations are no different, they give your recruiter a rough idea about what you have
Have you ever done any fair to any of your fellow students or colleagues?
well do not think too much if you have or you have not, it hardly makes a difference here because you will really have to chase your mates to write them down and once they do write it for you return the compliment by writing a recommendation for them.

4.Grow your connections

Everyone requires networking but its not about how many connections you have but its actually about how many of your connections are of use to you ?

you need to follow potential recruiters who post regularly and sending an invite is just not enough to make sure that you are building up your desired post feed, perfect invites is all about knowing whom you are really approaching!invite messages which contain clear "intent of connection" are more likely to help you et throgh with your request.
your connection Invest time in connecting with people and you can also initate diologue to seek clarity on your job hunt.

5.Mind what you Post and like
What you post clearly shows your stand on things you care about! although LinkedIn is less of a battlefield as compared to Facebook it sure has some warriors who will attack you if you post something which is not sensible.
Freedom of expression here comes with necessary responsibility which required you to take note of every minute details of the post, be it the facts that you quote or the grammar you use just about everything in your feed reflects your preferences!
